Welcome to the Legato counselling centre in Hamburg!

We offer counselling for people who wish to leave a religious or political-religious group and are a point of contact for relatives concerned about religiously motivated conflicts and radicalization.

We are ready to support you in finding ways of dealing with such conflicts, focusing on your concerns and building on existing resources and skills. We offer individual, couple/parent and family counselling in the context of radicalization and religiously motivated conflicts.

We focus on your concerns and support you in finding a way of dealing with conflicts that is right for you and builds on your existing resources and skills.

Our multilingual team works with the systemic counselling approach. From a systemic perspective, all people participate in various social systems, for example the family, circle of friends or school. Every member of such a system can bring about change. Those who are closely attached, in particular, can play important roles in recognizing, preventing or counteracting radicalization. If necessary and on request, we involve family members in the counselling process, as counselling benefits from a variety of perspectives, attitudes and experiences.

Do you hardly recognize your child since he or she turned intensively to a religion? Are there frequent conflicts, and would you like to find a different way of dealing with them?

Are there signs that a family member is becoming increasingly isolated? Or that they want to use violence to achieve religious or political goals?

Were you convinced of a religious interpretation or world view, but something does not feel right anymore? We can support you in exploring new paths and offer you a confidential and respectful space for dialogue.

Do your teachers or family not understand your faith, leading to frequent conflicts?
